Sharmila Banerjee is an illustrator and comic artist from Germany. She currently lives in Berlin where she works from her sunny studio in Neukölln. Her illustration work has been featured on LP-covers, posters, T-Shirts and in several magazines. Her comics can be found in various european anthologies and in her self published fanzines and albums.

This comic tells a story about the short and tragic life of a male Atlas moth.
The Atlas moth is known to be the moth with the biggest wing span in the world, but it's life cycle sounds quite tragic to us: While the caterpillar lives a life completely dedicated to eating and transforming, the short life of the adult moth is focused only on the act of mating. Tragically the mating is inevitably followed by sudden death!
The silk of the atlas cocoons is traditionally used to produce the so called ›Fagara silk‹.
